How I Get Free Beauty Products & Groceries Through Product Testing

One of my favorite ways to save money and try new items is through product testing and market research studies. Instead of buying products to see if I like them, companies pay me (or give me free items) to test them and share my honest feedback.

What is Product Testing?

Product testing involves trying new or existing products (skincare, food, household items, etc.) and giving your opinion. Companies use this feedback to improve their products before they launch widely. You usually fill out a short survey or attend a focus group, and in return, you often get to keep the product for free — and sometimes even get paid cash!

Platforms I Use

Here are two I’ve had great success with:

Letshighlight.com – I’ve received free skincare sets and makeup through them. It’s easy to sign up and they send products right to your door.
Reckner (Oak Creek, WI) – They run local focus groups. I’ve participated in several and received good pay plus free products to take home.

Pro Tip: Keep your profile updated with accurate information (age, household size, interests) so you get matched with more studies. You can also look for opportunities on Pinecone Research, UserTesting, and brand-specific Facebook groups.
